SM Super Malls has inaugurated SM J Mall, its latest premier lifestyle hub in Metro Cebu.
Officially opened to the public on Friday, SM J Mall in Mandaue City introduces a Japanese-inspired design and brings an elevated shopping and entertainment experience to Cebu’s cosmopolitan consumers.
The exclusive launch event, held on Oct. 24, gathered key figures including SM Prime Holdings’ Chairman of the Executive Committee Hans Sy, Super Shopping Market Inc. Chairman Herbert Sy, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, and Mandaue City Mayor Glenn Bercede.
Prominent business leaders and government officials attended, underscoring the significance of SM J Mall to Cebu’s growing urban landscape.
“SM J Mall is SM Supermalls’ latest lifestyle offering for the modern Cebuano looking for more than just shopping or dining,” Tan said. “It’s an experience designed to offer premium options and memorable moments for all who visit.”
The ceremony began with a blessing, followed by a Taiko drum performance, symbolizing the mall’s Japanese-inspired aesthetic.
A highlight of the event was a sakura petal cascade during the champagne toast, a celebration of SM J Mall’s fusion of global aesthetics with Cebuano spirit.
The festivities continued at the Izakaya Terrace, where guests enjoyed traditional Japanese fare and live music.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning marked SM J Mall’s official opening to the public, with local government officials and SM representatives present.
SM J Mall aims to offer a diverse range of retail, dining, and entertainment choices, catering to Cebu’s growing demand for sophisticated and lifestyle-driven spaces.
This new addition reinforces SM Supermalls’ commitment to delivering unique and inclusive experiences across the Philippines.
