In a festive blend of charity and pop culture, SM Cares, in collaboration with SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom, announced the return of their annual Christmas charity initiative, the SM Bears of Joy.

This year, the campaign introduces an innovative twist with the launch of its first-ever B-POP (Bear Pop) group, named the Bear Pop Squad.

The Bear Pop Squad, a group of specially designed bear idols, aims to connect with fans through relatable storytelling, reflecting the everyday experiences of their audience.

This initiative is a nod to the popular K-POP and P-POP phenomena, drawing inspiration from their vibrant communities. The collection showcases four unique bear designs, each symbolizing the unity and shared enthusiasm prevalent in fan cultures around the world.

SM’s newest group doesn’t just aim to entertain; it also seeks to inspire. The Bear Pop Squad is designed to encourage shoppers and visitors at SM malls to embrace the values of friendship and community, hallmarks of pop fandoms. By participating in the campaign, customers can extend these sentiments to children in need during the festive season.

The charity model is straightforward yet impactful: for every bear purchased at 250 pesos, another bear is donated. This offer is available from November 15 to December 25, 2023, at selected SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom outlets. Additionally, these special bears can also be acquired through the SM Online and Toy Kingdom Online Stores, making it easy for everyone to participate in this heartwarming cause.

Through the Bear Pop Squad, SM Cares hopes to not only bring joy to children in need but also to foster a sense of community and shared joy among its customers during the Christmas season.
