SUBIC BAY – Top executives and members of the Subic Bay Truck Importers Association Inc. (SBTIA) have expressed their unwavering support for the SBMA management and seaport department.
In a letter dated October 2, 2023, the association vehemently refuted the allegations and accusations brought forth by certain brokers and processors during a meeting held at the SBMA board room on September 29, 2023.
The letter reads, “We, the president, company owners, and association officers and members, would like to profoundly express our full support to SBMA management/seaport department and hereby refute all the malicious allegations and false accusations.”
Emphasizing their adherence to governmental policies and procedures, the association members further stated, “As companies paying duties and taxes to the government, we adhere to the rules and regulations, policies, and procedures being implemented by SBMA and other concerned agencies.”
They also expressed a keen interest in replacing brokers and processors who have been tarnishing the association’s reputation with these baseless allegations.
This clarifying letter was signed by Pietro V. Geroue, president of the Subic Bay Truck Importers Association Inc., along with vice presidents Eva Tadus and Shahzad Ammad.
In addition to the aforementioned signatories, the letter received the backing of more than 30 members of the association, showcasing the overwhelming consensus among the members in support of SBMA and its operations.
Earlier, Deputy Majority Floor Leader Senator Joseph Victor ‘JV’ Ejercito during the latest senate budget hearing on publicly congratulated Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairman and Administrator Jonathan Tan for introducing new policies that will shape a brighter and more vibrant future for the free port.
