Indonesian-based startup Mimin, which offers chat commerce solutions and virtual assistant services for businesses, has announced its seed funding from Otto Digital, part of the Salim Group.

Mimin aims to serve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and online sellers in Indonesia, leveraging Otto Digital’s extensive community and networks.

The funding will be used to develop new products and features for MSMEs, as well as to enhance Mimin’s technology infrastructure and order management software.

This comes at a time when Indonesia’s social commerce sector is projected to grow by 17.9% annually from 2022-2028. A 2022 Populix survey revealed that 86% of Indonesians have shopped through social media and chatting apps, such as Tiktok Shop, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.

Mimin addresses the inefficiencies of manually processing social commerce transactions by providing chat commerce automation and an order management platform.

Sellers can input orders easily, and the app automatically generates invoices and payment confirmations, resulting in a 70% faster and more accurate order processing. Mimin also enables sellers to contact previous buyers with personalized offers.

Joseph Simbar, CEO of Mimin, said the platform offers relevant insights based on processed transactions, helping businesses innovate and grow.

Mimin currently serves MSMEs in 20 provinces across 55 cities in Indonesia and has partnered with local governments to provide training and mentoring to local MSME communities.

To cater to larger retail companies, the startuphas introduced Mimin Pro, which allows businesses to process orders received through chat and delegate order fulfillment to the nearest branch. This service has already benefited leading retail brands such as Hero Supermarket, Bumame Pharmacy, and LotteMart.

Reginald Hamdani, CEO of Otto Digital, said Mimin’s solutions align with their vision of empowering communities and expanding economic growth to rural areas. Otto Digital also has confidence in Mimin’s founders, Joseph Simbar and Bayu Eka Putra, who have extensive experience in the technology and industrial sectors, respectively.

Mimin’s app is available for free on the App Store and Play Store, enabling businesses to manage their stores more efficiently and effectively while offering personalized promotions and sales strategies based on insights provided by the platform. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
