SINGAPORE – An official of the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to discuss the latest overview of policies for integrating domestic drones in airspace during the Commercial UAV Show Asia 2016 in Singapore.
James Spillane, senior FAA representative for Southeast Asia, will tackle the different policies that cover domestic drones in airspace during the two-day UAV Show on 1-2 September at the Suntec Convention Center in Singapore, joining other industry experts who are set to talk during the event, according to a report published by EventsNewsAsia.com.
The Commercial UAV Show Asia 2016, which carries the theme “Demonstrating Real World Applications of UAVs”, will bring together commercial communities to learn and see how UAVs can help them save money, time and lives.
UAV Show to Showcase Capabilities, Applications of UAVs
The conference will showcase the wide capabilities and applications of UAVs – from surveillance and monitoring to surveying and delivery.
It was in 2015 when Spillane was appointed as the Southeast Senior Representative of the FAA, based in Singapore. With his role, he promoted the agency’s bilateral and multilateral efforts to strengthen aviation safety.

Spillane has served the US for more than 27 years, taking assignments both domestically and abroad. His experience in various air traffic management and air traffic flow management encompasses 20 years.
Other featured premium speakers in the exhibition are Daniel Ng, director for aviation industry of the Civial Aviation Authority of Singapore; Hideaki Mukai, manger of drone project promotion section at Rakuten, Japan; and Ben Chung, program leader, global center of excellence at Cisco Innovation Center.
Ng will join Spillane id providing the latest overview of policies for integrating domestic drones in airspace.
Mukai will discuss the topic “Using UAVs in E-commerce & Goods Delivery” while Chung will talk about “Connecting Everything: How UAV Can Be Integrated as Part of the IOT Solutions in Building Smart Cities in Asia”. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
