Boxing great Muhammad Ali said Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao will come out victorious in his fight against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This was confirmed by Ali’s daughter, Rasheda Ali, who said her father is confident that 8-division boxing champion Pacquiao will triumph over Mayweather in their fight, dubbed as the boxing fight of the century.
Rasheda said her father respects Mayweather but he favors Pacquiao for the win.
“My dad is Team Pacquiao all the way,” Rasheda told TMZ Sports in an interview.
Pacquiao and Muhammad Ali first met during Ali’s 70th birthday celebration in 2012.
Earlier, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey said she believes Pacquiao will emerge as winner in his fight against Mayweather Jr.
Pacquiao is set to battle it out in the ring with Mayweather Jr on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden, in what is considered as the fight of the century.
Rousey said Mayweather will find it hard to defeat Pacquiao, who is also a Filipino congressman, if Pacquiao will utilize his skills and power.
The UFC Women’s champion said she stands with her prediction because she is also a fighter and she knows how both Pacquiao and Mayweather fight in the ring.
Rousey, though, advised Pacquiao to change his boxing style when inside the ring to give him more advantage against Mayweather. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
